Wife of detainee reported the police arrested the detainee on 19 March 2006 for parking his motor cycle in a no parking zone.

Wife of detainee reported the Criminal Court extended the detainee's detention period by a further fifteen days on 5 April 2006.

Wife of detainee reported she had access to the detainee at Male' police headquarters on 5 April 2006. Wife of detainee reported the police transported the detainee back to Dhoonidhoo Island Detention Center at around 20:00 on the same day.

2 April 2006

Wife of detainee reported the police arrested the detainee from a street in Male’ for parking his motor cycle in a no parking zone on 19 March 2006. Wife of detainee reported an acquaintance of detainee informed her the police ordered the detainee to park his motor cycle in a parking zone but the detainee asked to requested the police to give him a few minutes to walk in to a near by office. Wife of detainee reported the acquaintance of detainee reported the police put a sticker on detainee's motor cycle when he walked back. Wife of detainee reported the acquaintance of detainee informed her that the police arrested the detainee for allegedly arguing with the police.

Wife of detainee reported she sent personal items and toiletries to the detainee on 24 March 2006. Wife of detainee reported she wrote a letter to the police requesting access to the detainee on 25 March 2006 .

8 March 2006

Detainee reported the police arrested him near "Mulee Aage", the former Presidential residence on 23 February 2006. Detainee reported the police released him without charge after twelve hours on 23 February 2006.

Detainee reported he was riding his motor cycle in the area when he heard about a gathering in front of the former Presidential residence. Detainee reported he stopped at the place and called for the resignation of the President with the rest of crowd. Detainee reported six policemen in “star force” uniform approached him, handcuffed him and then dragged him to Male' police headquarters.

Detainee reported the police held him in an open area for a few minutes, removed his handcuffs and then transported him to Dhoonidhoo Island Detention Center by speedboat. Detainee reported four plain-clothed policemen guarded him on the boat.

Detainee reported the police held him in an open area when he refused to walk to the cell. Detainee reported the detaining authorities provided him with edible food and cigarettes. Detainee reported the interrogating authorities did not question him but took his fingerprints at the interrogating room in Dhoonidhoo Island Detention Center.

Detainee reported the police transported him back to Male' at around 21:00 by speedboat and then released him without charge. Detainee reported he did not sign any statements.
