The Attorney General's Office has sent to the courts lawsuits of five more people among those accused of involvement in the unlawful acts committed at the Republic Square on 12th night and 13 August.

 

The Attorney General's Office today said the latest charges were brought against Mohamed Hassan Didi, M.Maanel of Male, Elena Mohamed Abbas, G.Bamboo of Male, Imran Zahir, H.Aman of Male and Mohamed Naveez Saleem, H.Maizaan of Male. In addition to this a lawsuit of a minor has been sent to the Juvenile Court for the first time by the Attorney.

 

Among the five accused the State is charging Mohamed Hassan Didi under article 50 of the Penal Code with reference to article 46 of the Code of breaching public peace in an unlawful assembly . Elena, Imran and Naveez are being charged under article 53 of the Penal Code with reference to article 46 of the Code for participating in an unlawful assembly. The minor is being charged for breaching public peace in an unlawful assembly and under (a) of article 88 of the Penal Code of disobedience to order.

 

Among the cases of those involved in the incident, those to be sent to the courts will be sent very soon the Attorney General's Office said.
